The Invisible Man [alt. history/fanfiction map]

This is the current state of Europe in my fanfiction, "The Invisible Man", which is currently set around Christmas 1991 (as of the latest chapter on July 18, 2013). The fanfic is about Harry Potter, and the Death Eaters rising up and seizing Britain. This is Europe as of December 25, 1991, almost 2 months after the beginning of the war. The world has been shown the wizarding world thanks to the publicity of the Death Eaters, so now all the magical institutes in the world are trying to come up with a way to defeat the Death Eaters.

And as a side-effect of the war, the collapse of communism seems to have stalled out. In Europe, Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria and the USSR hold on to the Warsaw Pact and are restrengthening themselves with the help of the United States to fight this combined threat.

The Soviet Union and United States are throwing money and aid at Hogwarts, trying to keep them from falling.

Note 1: That little thing with the 1 is Death Eater-backed anti-Communist forces. While the dictatorship fell in 1989, the socialists still rule, and the Death Eaters are using a bunch of disgruntled Romanians to further their power base.
