The German Federal Republic was born as the Federal Republic of Prussia in 1848 after the Mittelmark Constitution was signed in Weimar. In 1933, Chancellor Adolf Hitler, a man who originally hails from Austria-Hungary, has lead the country in celebration of the 85th birthday of "Einigkeit und Recht und Freiheit" in Germany, taking a line from the world-famous "Demokratiehymne" which Germans everywhere, no matter the country sing. It was once part of a greater song, Das Lied der Deutschen, but now the first two stanzas are all but forgotten, as people celebrate democracy from Salzburg to Flensburg.
